Planning granted for 490,000 sq ft logistics unit in Bury St Edmunds

Hazells are pleased to confirm that planning has recently been granted for a new 490,000 sq ft logistics unit at Suffolk Business Park, Bury St Edmunds.

The unit is to be developed by Belgian logistics company Weerts Group. Weerts Group own the adjoining premises SP870 Suffolk Park, which is fully let to Skechers and Bleckmann. Hazells acted on behalf of Weerts in acquiring the site and also act as managing agents for SP870.

The unit is to be situated on Zone 4 of Suffolk Business Park with direct access to Rougham Tower Avenue and easy access to the A14. It will provide much needed supply of accommodation to the fast growing logistics industry in Suffolk and underlines the strategically important location Bury St Edmunds plays in the logistics market in East Anglia.

The new unit can provide up to 490,000 sq ft of warehouse, office and mezzanine accommodation. The specification will include 13m eaves height, 55 dock level loading doors, 242 car parking spaces and high ESG credentials including BREEAM ‘Very Good’ & EPC ‘A’ rating.

Expressions of interest are sought for the building which is available on a pre-let basis.
