“Sore  thumb” to splendid Town Centre gallery

Some may recall the Bury Free Press front page article (see below), relating to the very sorry state of an important Listed town centre property previously occupied by Coral Bookmakers on Abbeygate Street. It had been left vacant by Corals for a number of years and the property had fallen into a poor state or repair and was a real detraction for the town centre.

The landlord was adamant to take matters back into their own hands and Hazells acting on their behalf were able to successfully negotiate the terms of a surrender of the Coral lease. This then allowed for a team of engineers/surveyors to arrange for urgent structural repairs to be undertaken, by local building contractor J C E George. Hazells were also able to find and negotiate terms for a new tenant to occupy the property, who have been undertaking final fitting out works over the past couple of weeks.

The result is an excellent fully repaired and refurbished property and a new trading addition to the town centre with Clarendon Fine Art due to open before Christmas
